Two easy ways
to make sure your mail gets forwarded to your new address:
Fastest:
Submit change of address online, by going to the web site of a
contractor hired by the US Postal Service to accept address changes (https://moversguide.usps.com/).
However, the USPS requires the contractor to collect a valid credit card
number for each address change submission. They say this is so they can verify the identity of
persons requesting address changes. However, the Postal Service also
charges a small fee (around a buck) for processing these online requests.
Most Secure:
Print the form linked below, then fill it out and hand it to your
local mail carrier or Post Office. Submitting the form is completely
free, and no credit card number is required. You can even drop it in the
mail (if that's more convenient than giving it to your carrier or Post
Office), but you will have to put a stamp on it.
